Compare Waste Nottingham ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and your rights under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1. Who we are
Compare Waste Nottingham is a free quote comparison service connecting customers with vetted, licensed third-party waste removal companies in the Nottingham area. We are not a waste carrier and do not transport, collect or dispose of waste ourselves.

2. What data we collect
When you submit a quote request via our website or phone us, we collect:
- Your name
- Your phone number
- Your postcode
- The type of waste removal you need
- Any additional details you choose to share
When you visit our website, we may also collect (only with your consent via the cookie banner):
- Anonymised usage data via Microsoft Clarity (page views, clicks, scroll behaviour, session recordings with form inputs and personal details automatically masked)
- Your approximate location (city level only)
- Browser type and device information
3. How we use your data
We use the data you submit for the sole purpose of connecting you with suitable, licensed waste removal companies in our partner network. Specifically:
- To pass your enquiry to up to 3 vetted partner companies in your area
- To contact you ourselves if any clarification is needed
- To improve our service based on aggregated, anonymised website usage data
We will never sell your data to third parties, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone outside of our pre-vetted partner network without your consent.
4. Legal basis for processing
We process your data under the following lawful bases:
- Consent — you give us your details voluntarily to receive quotes
- Legitimate interest — to provide the service you requested and improve our website
5. Who we share your data with
We share your enquiry details with up to 3 pre-vetted partner waste removal companies operating in your postcode area. Each of our partners is independently registered with the Environment Agency as a licensed waste carrier and has agreed to handle your data in compliance with UK GDPR.
We also share technical data with the following service providers:
- Formspree (form submission delivery) — see Formspree privacy policy
- Microsoft Clarity (website analytics, only with cookie consent) — see Microsoft privacy statement
6. How long we keep your data
We retain quote enquiry data for 12 months from the date of submission, after which it is deleted. Microsoft Clarity recordings are automatically deleted after 30 days.
7. Cookies
We use a small number of cookies, only with your consent:
- Microsoft Clarity cookies — for understanding how visitors use our site so we can improve it. These do not contain personal identifying information.
- Consent cookie — to remember whether you accepted or rejected cookies (this is essential and always set).
You can change your cookie preferences at any time by clearing your browser storage for this site.
8. Your rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Object to processing of your data
- Request data portability
