These Terms of Service govern your use of the Compare Waste Nottingham website and quote comparison service. By submitting a quote request or using this website, you agree to these terms.
1. About our service
Compare Waste Nottingham is an advertising and referral service. We connect customers in Nottingham with independent third-party waste removal companies that hold valid waste carrier licences issued by the UK Environment Agency.
We are not a waste carrier. We do not transport, collect, store, treat or dispose of waste. All waste removal work is carried out by independent third-party companies in our partner network, each of whom holds their own waste carrier registration.
2. How the service works
When you submit a quote request via our website or telephone:
- We pass your contact details and job description to up to three vetted partner companies covering your postcode area
- Those companies contact you directly with their own quotes
- You enter into any contract for waste removal directly with the partner company of your choice, not with Compare Waste Nottingham
- You are under no obligation to book any of the companies we introduce
3. Our role and limits of liability
Compare Waste Nottingham is paid a referral fee by partner companies for introductions. We do not take payment from customers.
Because we are not the supplier of waste removal services, we are not party to any contract you form with a partner company. Specifically:
- We are not responsible for the quality, timing, price or conduct of work carried out by partner companies
- Any complaints about the work itself must be raised with the partner company that performed it
- The waste transfer note required under UK Duty of Care regulations is provided by the partner company, not by us
That said, we take partner vetting seriously and will remove any partner from our network who provides poor service or fails to comply with their licence conditions. If you have a complaint about a partner, please tell us at DeanJohnson93@outlook.com so we can investigate.
4. Vetting of partner companies
Before accepting a company into our network, we verify that they hold a valid Upper Tier Waste Carrier licence on the Environment Agency public register. We re-check registrations annually. However, registration alone does not guarantee quality of service — please always confirm pricing, timing and any specific requirements with the partner directly before booking.
5. Pricing on this website
Prices shown on this website (e.g. "from £60") are indicative typical market rates from across our partner network and are intended as guidance only. The actual price you are quoted by a partner company may differ depending on the specifics of your job, access, volume, and waste type. All quotes from partner companies are fixed prices given before any work begins.
6. Your obligations
By submitting a quote request, you confirm:
- You are 18 years of age or older
- The contact details you provide are accurate and you are entitled to share them
- You consent to your details being shared with up to three partner companies for the purpose of providing quotes
- You understand that waste containing hazardous materials (asbestos, chemicals, clinical waste, gas bottles) cannot be collected and must be disclosed in advance
7. Cancellation
Because we don't perform the waste removal work ourselves, there is nothing to cancel with Compare Waste Nottingham. If you've booked a job with a partner company and want to cancel, contact that company directly.
You may withdraw your quote request at any time by emailing us — we will instruct partner companies to disregard your enquiry, although we cannot guarantee they have not already attempted to contact you.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Compare Waste Nottingham is not liable for any loss or damage arising from:
- The acts or omissions of any partner company
- Quotes provided by partner companies that you choose to accept or decline
- Errors or interruptions in the website
Nothing in these terms excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
